Choral Coral Cuts

This was a performance at the Lychee One Gallery in London. Inspired by the work of Dr Tim Gordon on sonic responses of coral to sound.

I was interested in making sounds of the coral reef using linoleum. I was fascinated by the phenomenon that coral reefs start to produce and rejuvenate when healthy coral sounds are played to it.

The costume was a linoleum print of a coral plant. I wanted to appear like a creature from the ocean.

Tilda, plays with inflatables.

This painting is inspired by the boat people arriving at Dover on inflatables. Throughout the painting there are white dots reminding the viewer of the Tilda rice reference.

I chose Tilda rice packets because of the link to an immigrants being successful and owning companies. Also immigrants travel for fod fundamentally to find safety.
